Theresa grew up in New Jersey near the Palisades of the Hudson River. She started painting as a young child, deciding then to make art the focus of her life. Motivated by the desire to learn how to paint, she embarked on an intense course of self study of the lives, methods and materials of past masters who inspired her. Throughout several moves, she continued developing her art skills and began exhibiting her work. She eventually settled in the Florida Panhandle in 2003 where she paints outdoors and in her studio in Gulf Breeze.
Preferring the outdoors to city life, Theresa creates oil paintings that represent the intimate bond she feels with her natural surroundings. She has exhibited with both the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society, and her paintings have appeared in Plein Air Magazine's Portfolio and Postcards From the Road features. Her work is collected privately and hangs in the Permanent Art Collection of the Federal Reserve Board Bank in New Orleans. Her coastal works have been the subject of three solo exhibitions. Theresa teaches workshops and private classes and is an adjunct instructor for the Continuing Education program at Pensacola State College.
