Mary Hertler Tallman's works in pastel are created as the 19th century French Impressionist painters first described "en plein air". Her formal training includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts from Spring Arbor University. Her award-winning works are included in gallery exhibitions and online, as well as in both private and corporate collections. In 2023, her work is recognized by Pastel Journal Magazine’s “24th Annual Pastel 100 Competition”. In this venue, artists competed internationally to be included in the top 100.
Further in 2023, she was accepted into the Lighthouse ArtCenter’s “10th Annual Plein Air Festival”.
